2021 Season Match Reports
Lavant vs Singleton 26th September
A great close game of cricket was had vs a strong Singleton side. Lavant put on a spirited 166/10 and fielded competitively only to lose by a run, taking Singleton to their last wicket. Congratulations once again to Chris as our man of the match for his 64 runs innings. Phil’s 2nd catch was voted as the ‘champagne moment’ (one I shall treasure!). My thanks once again and for the final time this season to all for your efforts. Finally, may I thank you all for your great company during the season; we may only have won 1match, but we have largely been keenly competitive with a great team spirit. Gentlemen, it’s been a pleasure! All best. P
Lavant vs DACD 11th September
The result was a competitive draw enjoyed by all; DACD (218/3) v Lavant (184/7); congratulations to Chris as our deserved man of the match for his innings of 108 runs; the skipper was awarded the ‘champagne moment’ for his straight six (one I shall treasure!) Once again, my thanks to all for your efforts.
Lavant vs Clanfield 22nd August
Lavant managed their best batting figures for sometime (191/9) and so were able to apply great pressure to Clanfield who managed to hold out for an eventual draw; man of the match goes to Harry for his solid 57 runs, the champagne moment to stand in Ollie for his fielding that lead to an excellent stumping; as always, my thanks to all for your effort, making Lavant a very competitive opponent today.
Lavant vs Hawkley 18th July
On the hottest day of the season so far, Lavant toiled hard to remain competitive but eventually fell short with 2/35 overs remaining; worthy of special mention for Steve for his 36 runs, Matt for his 3 wickets and tireless fielding and to James for his champagne catch. As always my thanks to all for your efforts in very hot conditions.
Lavant vs Shirrell Heath 11th July
Lavant fell short but made the hosts work hard for their eventual victory in a competitive timed game at Shirrel Heath; had Lavant collectively batted with a little more composure I feel sure we would have exceeded our final total (119/10) and our bowlers, with excellent support in the field, would have brought us home. Deserved special mention goes to Chris for his sterling work with bat and ball, and to Lee for his 4 wickets; my thanks to all for their efforts making Lavant a keen competitive opponent today. Apologies, forgot to mention Danny for his 46!
